For almost two decades, Velocitek has been helping sailors start better. Earlier this year, to celebrate our long-standing commitment to the sport, we launched the 'Luck of the Irish' contest. Participants entered by submitting the serial number of their ProStart device, and the owner of the earliest ProStart won a brand-new ProStart. Additionally, we offered a special prize pack to the sailing club or fleet with the most entries.
In a surprising and heartwarming victory, the prize pack was claimed by the Downtown Sailing Center (DSC) in Baltimore. A dedicated group of members and volunteers, driven by DSC’s mission to offer educational and life-enriching programs that promote self-esteem and teamwork through the joy of sailing, came together to win this prize. We’re thrilled to see the prize go to an organization that makes sailing accessible to everyone.
With the win secured, the next question was: how could DSC best use the prize pack to benefit their community?
After thoughtful discussions, DSC decided to auction the items during their annual Ya Gotta Regatta fundraiser. The auction is now live, and this is your chance to support a great cause while scoring some amazing gear—including a brand-new ProStart.
